Dr. Ruth Hill Yielding is a plastic surgeon in Orlando who specializes in eye/face/neck areas.  She and her husband Randy has us shoot video testimonials of actual patients, along with photos of them and their staff.

Cardiologist B&W

I had a cardiologist from Philadelphia call me after getting a recommendation.  Turns out he was in my area, so we did a shoot for him and his wife (who is also a physician) in the lobby of a conference center.
They were wonderful people and we got a lot of great shots.  I convinced him to use them in B&W, which I think looks really good and makes him stand out. 

UCF Foundation donors

The Albertsons were a lovely couple who have given generously to my alma mater.  I had sprained my ankle that morning and could barely walk, but the shot must go on and my assistant Mike was a huge help.

 

 This is from a different UCF event, but I always told my photography students that you have to know how to do a good headshot because you're always going to be asked for it.

How much can I shoot in one day?

A lot.  In this one day for a school textbook company, I shot 1400 frames (after editing out blinks) in two distinct locations.  Having an assistant and three great stylists wrangling models, parents, props and wardrobe makes it possible.
Here is a small sample of the many situations we shot for their marketing department.

Katlyn on Lake Norris

I love Kayaking our many local streams and lakes, and one that has always begged for a model is Lake Norris, with its many beautiful cypress trees.  Here's what Katlyn and I came up with in December when the leaves were gone.

Four hours with a professional nude model

Let me first say that I have the most wonderful and understanding wife in the world.

Now...Katlyn Lacoste is a young woman who is an excellent artist, but has also found a way to make a living as a nude model for photographers, sculptors and illustrators all over the U.S.  Check out her site here and you can see she's been all over the place and contributed to some very cool work.

I think that's the very definition of "Chutzpah"!  She is a free spirit and a lot of fun.

Katlyn's got to pay the bills with this, so it's not cheap.  I wanted to get the most out of my time with her, and I did a lot of pre-planning to create as many photos as possible in the four hours we had set aside.  My good friend Ric Wilson helped with her hair and makeup, and friends with a wonderful house they let me use it as a location (and modeled as well).

I used to assist at Playboy Magazine in L.A. in 1981-82, so I've been around a lot of naked women in photography situations.  The first minute or so is a bit odd, but then you remember Katlyn's line, "it's just a body, it's not sex".
